Domingo Sanchez

August 14, 1955 — November 18, 2024

Dilley

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Domingo Sanchez of Dilley, Texas. Domingo entered eternal rest on November 18th in San Antonio, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Domingo, 69, was born in Raymondville, Texas, to Abundio Sanchez and Ana Maria Guzman on August 14th, 1955. He was a caring, witty, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others before his own. In his early years, he traveled with his parents as migrant workers, where he learned the value of a hard day’s work, working the fields alongside his eight siblings.
Later, he began his career as a truck driver, traveling all over the United States hauling different types of freight and eventually logging millions of miles. His CB radio nickname was “Tobacco Kid.” He always hoped his children would follow in his footsteps as truck drivers, and with four daughters and one son, we are grateful that his son joined him in this career path and even became a team for several trucking companies, where they got to drive together.
Domingo was a devoted husband for 48 years to his beloved wife, Rosa Margarita Sanchez. They moved to Dilley, where they made their home and raised five children. Domingo was hardworking and always ensured that his family was taken care of. No matter how many miles he traveled, he always made time for his wife and children. He and his wife would take trips to go out and spend time together, visit extended family, vacations with his children and grandchildren, and spontaneous weekend fishing on the coast.
Domingo is preceded in death by his parents and his oldest sister, Bertha “Betty” Zepeda. He is survived by his loving wife, children: Lisa Sanchez, Perla Martinez (Michael Paul Martinez), Jose Domingo Sanchez (Esperanza Ruiz), Rosemary Sanchez-Ramirez (Robert Ramirez), and Lucero Sutton; his siblings: Jose Alpha Sanchez, Juan Omega Sanchez, Blanca Nieves De Los Santos, Maria Ester Guerrero Moreno, Jesus Guerrero, and Raul Guerrero; along with an incredible legacy of 11 grandchildren: Alexandria, Slone, Julissa, Joe Eric, Isaiah, Penelope, Faith, Angelica, Rosemary, Victor Jr., and Luna; and one great-grandchild, Marc.
The loss of Domingo leaves an incredible void. His love and devotion to his family were undeniable. He took great pride in guiding his children and instilling in them the valuable lessons he learned throughout his life. He will always be remembered for his caring and generous spirit.
