Donaciana ”Elodia” Aguirre

Donaciana “Elodia” Aguirre, 86 of Dilley, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Orange Grove on February 23, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1938 in Charlotte, Texas to Catarino Alcorta and Barbarita De Leon Alcorta. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Aguirre Jr., parents, sons Juan Manuel Flores and Juan Adan Duque. Daughter in law, Demaris Aguirre and siblings, Josie Ochoa, Adelina Hernandez and Genaro Alcorta.

She is survived by her children Sylvia Melton (Rick) of San Antonio, Sylvia Ann Ellis (Frank) of Devine, Jacqueline Duenez (Antero) of Corpus Christi, Juan Abel Duque of Tívoli, Texas, Jose Aguirre III of Dilley, Elias Aguirre of Dilley, Elisa Reyes (Randy) of Orange Grove, Gerardo Aguirre (Katia) of Weslaco and Michael Aguirre (Crystal) of Dilley. Siblings, Adelia Mata, Eva Nava, Angel Martinez, Irene Adams, Henry Alcorta and Gloria Trevino. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels Dilley form 5pm-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 10am. Internment will follow at the Dilley Cemetery.
