Elpidio D. Mata

Elpidio D. Mata, 80 of Dilley, entered rest on July 29, 2024, in Pearsall. He was born on September 27, 1943, in Dilley, TX to Josefa De Los Santos Mata and Benito Mata. He is preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Mata and children, Cesar Mata, Coche Luna (Sandra), Joseph Luna, Zelda Mata Musser (Michael) and Elpidio Mata Jr. (Katy); sister, Belia Eguia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dilley starting at 9am. A funeral mass will follow at 10am. Services will conclude at the church. Burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
