Obituary

Evilia Frausto, beloved mother, sister, and matriarch, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, in San Antonio. She was born on March 8, 1938, in Pearsall. Her journey in this world spanned eighty-eight years, marked by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Evilia’s passing comes just thirty days after the loss of her beloved husband, Reyes Frausto reminder of the profound connection they shared. Their love story, defined by mutual respect and companionship, will forever be remembered and celebrated by those who knew them

Evilia was the cherished daughter of Gregorio Gutierrez and Evangelina Reyna, both of whom preceded her in death. She also mourned the loss of her beloved daughter Velma Frausto Cuevas, her grandson Senon Cuevas Jr., and her sister Irene Mendez. 

Her legacy endures through her loving family. Evilia is survived by her daughters, Helen Valdez and Graciela Martinez (Pedro), her son, Reyes Frausto Jr. (Tammy), and her devoted sisters, Paula Perez, Erestina Del Toro, and Cilda Ramirez. Her familial influence radiates even further, lovingly carried forward by her seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring bonds she nurtured throughout her life.

Evilia’s devotion extended beyond the home and into her spiritual life. She was deeply faithful to the Pentecostal church, where her dedication and participation were a source of inspiration to many. Her steadfast belief sustained her through life’s triumphs and challenges, and she offered support and comfort to friends and family through prayer and gentle guidance.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Evilia Frausto at Tabernade of Faith Church, located at 319 South Cypress Street, Pearsall, TX 78061, on August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Evilia are welcome to gather, share memories, and pay their respects to a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
