Gloria V. Mendoza, a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 12, 1938, in Pearsall, Gloria lived a full and devoted life marked by love, faith, and family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Mendoza Jr., and her son Hector Mendoza. She was also the daughter of Maximo Villarreal and Nieves Hernandez Villarreal, and sister to Mario and Rolando Villarreal, all of whom she now joins in eternal rest.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Richard Mendoza, who carries forward her legacy of strength and kindness. Gloria’s siblings continue to hold her memory dear: David Villarreal, Delia Coronado, and Rosario Villarreal. Her family tree flourishes with the presence of her grandchildren—Craig Mendoza and his wife Rebecca; Stephanie M. Hawkins and her husband Eddie; Max Mendoza and his wife Viviana; Vanessa M. Gauna and her husband David; and Joshua Mendoza—each carrying a piece of Gloria’s warmth and wisdom. Her extensive family includes eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, alongside many nieces and nephews who cherished her vibrant spirit.
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Gloria's life at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel and Crematory, located at 203 E. Frio, Pearsall, TX 78061. Visitation will take place on April 9, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A Rosary will be held in her honor immediately following, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 422 W Brazos St, Pearsall, TX 78061, commencing at 11:00 a.m.
Gloria’s legacy of unwavering faith, enduring love for her family, and generous spirit will long be remembered and treasured by all who knew her. Her life exemplified grace, resilience, and devotion—a true treasure to her family and her community. She will be deeply missed and fondly recalled by generations to come.
