Gonzalo Hernandez, beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, in San Antonio, at the age of 60. Born on May 8, 1966, in Casa Grande, Arizona, Gonzalo touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark through his kindness, strength, and deep devotion to his family.
Gonzalo’s life was defined by the bonds he shared with his loved ones. He was a devoted father to his children: Daniel Guzman, Dominique Gauna, Jesse Gauna, Albert Hernandez, Natalie Garcia, Steven Brooks, Roy Brooks, Leah Brooks, and Elijah Hernandez. His pride in their accomplishments was unmistakable, and his guidance helped shape the family bonds that remain strong today. Gonzalo also found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to numerous grandchildren. He was a loving brother to Rudy Perez of San Antonio, Juan Perez of Batesville, Bertha Ortiz of Dilley, Adela Hernandez Villarreal of Pearsall, and Pedro Hernandez of San Antonio.
Gonzalo was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Hernandez and Celestina Cuellar Hernandez; his brothers and sisters, Albert Hernandez, Augustin Carrera, Cesaria Wilenson, Eluterio Carrera, Emilio Perez and Eusebio Cuellar.
Friends and loved ones are invited to remember and celebrate Gonzalo’s life during a visitation on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Treviño Royal Oaks Dilley Chapel, located at 604 W Leona St, Hwy 85, Dilley, Texas. A prayer service will be held at the same location that evening at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Church, 402 North Main Street, Dilley, Texas. Gonzalo will be laid to rest following the service at Dilley Cemetery, Dilley, Texas.
Gonzalo Hernandez’s legacy lives on in the memories, laughter, and love he shared with his family and friends. His life was a testament to the enduring strength of family, and he will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know him.
