James A. Cross

James (Jim) Allen Cross, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer, on May 20th, 2024 at the age of 60,. Born on December 26th, 1963, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Jesse James Cross & Clarice Joan Ochocki Cross. Jim spent his formative years in Westbrook, MN and attended Westbrook High School. Jim enlisted in the Army shortly after ending his education in Westbrook. After his discharge Jim spent his life traveling and working various jobs while exploring the country before settling in Moore TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Cross and Clarice Haugen and his older brother Jerry Cross of Chancellor South Dakota. Jim is survived by his wife Cynthia (Jan) Cortez, his two children from previous relationships, Brit Wilson and Austin (AJ) Burke, and his brother Mike Cross from Apple Valley MN, and his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A private memorial service will be held later for close family and friends.
