Juan Jesus Briones, affectionately known as JJ, was born on March 5, 2018, in San Antonio and left this world far too soon on July 19, 2025, at the age of 7. He was a vibrant spirit whose laughter echoed through the hearts of all who knew him. JJ's life may have been brief, but it was filled with love and joy that will forever resonate within his family.
JJ is survived by his devoted mother Kristy Garza Briones and stepfather Robert Rodriguez. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings: Javier Briones Jr., Genesis Victoria Briones, and Kaycie Jean Briones. As the youngest brother, he looked up to Javier Jr., wanting nothing more than to be like him in every way possible; their connection was one of admiration. He admired his older sister Genesis. JJ looked up to her with deep admiration, finding in her a guiding light, a source of comfort, and a constant companion.JJ took great pride in being a protector for his baby sister Kaycie—always ensuring she felt safe while sharing countless adventures together.
In addition to his immediate family, JJ leaves behind loving stepsiblings Elaine Elizondo (Isaiah), Ramon Rodriguez (Destiny), and Nyla Rodriguez; cherished aunts and uncles April Garza, Jesse Garza, Pilo Esquivel, Valerie Esquivel, Ashley Ancheyta, Saul Sanchez, Amber Garza, Antonio Garza ,and America Garza; beloved grandparents Juanita Montez (Arturo), Leticia Briones ,and Juan Jose Castillo; along with nieces Serenity Cervantes and Serena Guzman; nephews Eaithen Rodriguez ,Eli Elizondo ,and Kobe Rodriguez.

JJ loved to play football, his favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved school, he was also always eager to learn—the thrill of school ignited a spark within him that inspired everyone around him. His adventurous spirit thrived outdoors where he could swim freely or race around on his scooter or treasured 4x4 truck.
JJ’s heart overflowed with love for those closest to him—his family meant everything. The memories created during simple moments spent together are now treasures held dearly by each member who had the privilege to know such a remarkable soul.
Though we mourn the loss of our sweet Juan Jesus Briones today—we also celebrate the light he brought into our lives during these precious years spent together here on Earth.
