Juan A. Lopez was born May 20, 1968 in Fresno, California. He passed away January 20, 2018 at his residence in Dilley, Texas after suffering a massive stroke. He resided in Dilley since 1992 and was employed by the Dolph Briscoe State Prison as Disciplinary Hearing Captain. He is survived by Tamara Castillo of Dilley, mother Brigida Lopez of Roma, TX; daughers, Stacy and Ernest Wilson of Pasadena, TX, Kaitlyn Lopez of Del Rio, TX, Cheyenne Pena of San Marcos, TX and son Jacob Lopez of Del Rio, TX. His sisters, Olga & Victor Garay of Dinuba, CA and Estela and Antonio Garay of Dinuba, CA; brother, Robert and Sylvia Lopez of Houston.. He is also survived by 3 grandsons, Aiden, Alijah and Caleb as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother Jaime Lopez and father Roberto Lopez. He will be missed by his family, friends and TDCJ Family.
Funeral services for our beloved Captain Juan Lopez: body at state on Tuesday, January 23 from 9am-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm @ Rodriguez Funeral Home, 3230 Old Escobares HWY 83, Roma, TX 78584. Mass Service, 12pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 with a graveside burial immediately following. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels-Dilley from 2pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm and special honors to follow.
