He is preceded in death by his sons, Roberto Martinez and Julian Martinez Jr.; father; grandchildren, Roberto Julian Martinez, Darlene Starr Lerma, Jonathan Martinez; Daughter in law, Arcelia Martinez

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Obenoskey Martinez of De Kalb, TX; mother, Juana Vargas Martinez of Dilley; children, Raymond Martinez of Dilley, Richard Martinez and Suzanne of Giddings, Erlinda Garcia and Servando of Lincoln, Elena Castor and Albert of Giddings, Julian Martinez Jr. and Maria of Giddings, Elisa Rodriguez and Orlando of Dilley, Rita Gill and Randy Hawkins of De Kalb, TX. Brothers and sisters: Estevan Martinez and wife Ermidia, Guadalupe Garcia and husband Fernando, Margaret Rodriguez, Rene Rogers, Janie Rodriguez and husband Rene, Valentin Martinez and wife Martha, Alejandro Martinez and wife Leonilda, Minga Hernandez and husband Jeff, Mary Salinas and husband Eusebio and Roger Lee Norris. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel-Dilley from 3pm-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 10am. Services will conclude at the church.
