Leonard Wayne Stewart

Leonard Wayne Stewart, age 62, passed away on November 19th, 2024, in Pearsall, Texas. Leonard is survived by his wife, Gail Stewart; his son, Benjamin Stewart and daughter-in-law Katie; his father, Charlie Stewart; and his sister, Alice (Kenneth) Hooper.

Leonard was born on July 28th, 1962, in Beeville, Texas, to Charlie and Odell Stewart. He was raised in Dilley, Texas, and graduated from Dilley High School in 1980. He grew up helping his father, Charlie, with ranch work from an early age. In his early 20s, he spent his time working in the oil field. At the age of 27, Leonard married his beloved wife, Gail. Shortly after getting married, Leonard found his life's calling when he was offered a job as a ranch foreman at the JHO Ranch in Pearsall, Texas. He enjoyed 35 years of ranch life at the JHO where he and Gail raised their son, Ben.

Leonard loved hunting, finding arrowheads, eating steak, reading western stories, and going camping with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and exceptional rancher. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11am on November 25th at the Dilley First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the church may be made in Leonard’s name to P.O. Box 1968 Dilley, Texas 78017.
