Maria Olga Fernandez

Maria Olga Fernandez of Pearsall, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 79, on 14 May 2020.  She is survived by her loving husband Moises Fernandez, three children: Moises (Graciela) Fernandez, JR, Adriana (Valdemar) Garza, and Yolanda (Esteban) Ferdin; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She was proceeded by her daughter Elma Nora Granado.

Maria Olga was a devoted wife and mother, who loved unconditionally. As the matriarch of the family, she was always ready to put aside her worries and needs to pray and be there with open, loving arms. She was a nurse to her sick children, grandchildren and then great grandchildren, a cook capable of infusing her food with love, a financial genius in managing the family's money, a virtuous and devout Catholic, a counselor to her family, and an enthusiastic and inventive babysitter to generations. Maria was the lighthouse to which her family gravitated. Her personal glow, warmth, and uniting love could bring the family together in those times when challenges arose.

Maria was a special woman chosen by God especially for Moises Fernandez and their children. There are plenty of memories of Maria Olga that will live eternally. And though she is gone from this earth, her strength, courage, and spirit will remain with each member of the family as their lives move forward. Maria's journey on earth has been completed; she has been called home to rest in God's quiet and wonderful peace.

Rosary will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 9am.Memorial mass will be follow at 9:30am. Interment will follow at the VFW Cemetery.
