Petra V. Benavides

June 29, 1947 – July 12, 2026

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Petra V. Benavides, who entered into the presence of the Lord on July 12, 2026, at the age of 79.

Petra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ascension Benavides, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and family.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Lionel Benavides.

She is lovingly survived by her children:

• Osvaldo Benavides and Alicia Ramon• Clara Cervantes and Roberto Cervantes• Baldemar Benavides and Nakisha Benavides• Crisselda Valdez and Ray Valdez• Horacio Benavides• Adrian Benavides• Daniel Benavides and Connie Hernandez• Teresita Hernandez and Kevin Hernandez

She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, along with her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Petra’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who lovingly took many of her grandchildren under her wing, helping raise them with endless patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and togetherness.

She believed that family should remain united, always encouraging love, kindness, forgiveness, and support for one another. She found great happiness in being a homemaker and took pride in caring for those she loved.

Petra enjoyed baking for her family, crocheting beautiful handmade treasures, and caring for her beloved plants. She found joy in life’s simple blessings and shared that joy generously with everyone around her. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we find peace knowing she is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. Her faith, love, strength, and beautiful legacy will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

Your compassion and support has brought comfort to our hearts and reminded us how deeply our mother was loved.

Thank you for celebrating Petra V. Benavides’ beautiful life with us and for keeping our family in your prayers. We will forever be grateful for your love and support.

Our mother’s love will remain with us always. Though she is no longer by our side, her faith, kindness, strength, and the memories she gave us will live in our hearts forever. We will carry her love with us every day until we are together again in the presence of our Lord.
