He was born on November 8, 1946, in Palau Coahuila, MX to Gilberto Perez Sr. and Maria De Los Angeles Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Leal Perez; parents; children, Marcos Perez and Baby Perez; siblings, Margarita Mesa, Guadalupe Ventura, Maria Ester Villalobos, and Enrique Perez.

He is survived by his children, Ester Perez (Jose), Saul Perez (Priscilla), Jessica Perez (Desiree), Mark Perez (Bianca), Miriam Ramos (Freddy), Ramon Perez Jr. (Deborah), Victor Perez (Katie), Raymond Perez, Raquel Vallejo (Jose Pedro), Maria "Angela" Perez, Sara Morales (Abel), Marlene Flores (Eddie) Monica Gandara (Bobby), Joe Gonzales (Cecilia); siblings, Mary Ramirez, Pete Perez, George Perez, Maria A. Perez, Rosa Bentacourt, and Gilberto Perez Jr. He is also survived by 47 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
