Rodolfo Diaz Maldonado, 82 of Pearsall, entered rest on November 3, 2018. He was born on September 22, 1936 in Pearsall to Estanislado Maldonado and Juanita Diaz. He is preceded in death by his parents, Estanislado and Margarita Maldonado and Juanita and Jose Gutierrez; siblings, Marcos Maldonado, Tomas Maldonado, Eliasar Maldonado, Samuel Maldonado, David Maldonado, Florinda L. Maldonado and Azalia Gutierrez; grandchildren, Michael Maldonado and Alyssa Jean Fenton.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Velasco Maldonado of Pearsall; children, Rodolfo Orlando Maldonado and wife Nydia of Buda, Yvonne Medina and husband Billy of Pearsall, Annabel Fenton and husband Frank of Pearsall, Annette Nieto and husband Roland of Pearsall and Melinda Waters and husband Odie of Boerne; brothers and sisters, Guillermo Maldonado and wife Norma of San Antonio, Peter Maldonado and wife Yolanda of San Antonio, Juan Maldonado of Ensenada, Mexico, Javier Maldonado of Devine, Jesus Maldonado of Pearsall, Efrain Maldonado and wife Jeanette of San Antonio, Severa Hill and husband Vernon of Carencro, Louisiana, Evangelina Maldonado of Pearsall, Florinda Reyes and husband Oscar of Pearsall and Jose Gutierrez of Gardendale. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rodolfo and Irma were married June 30, 1956. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1957-1962. He worked at Kelly ARB in San Antonio for almost 30 years, commuting from Pearsall. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He imparted strong values of faith, family, unconditional love and hard work.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 3pm-5pm. A visitation will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church from 5pm-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1pm. Interment will follow at the VFW Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers include, Rudy Maldonado, Billy Medina, Frank Fenton, Roland Nieto, Jonathan Maldonado, Jason Maldonado, Odie Waters, Dina Nieto, Katrina Fenton and Brandon Maldonado.
