Valentina M. Rodriguez, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 90 in Temple, Texas, surrounded by her family. Born on February 14, 1935, in Dilley, Valentina lived a life characterized by love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to her family.
Valentina was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo (Cuate) Rodriguez, and her parents, Zaragosa Moreno and Braulia Hernandez Moreno. Brothers, Benancio (Nacho) Moreno, Antonio (Tony) Moreno, Claudio (Chacho) Moreno, Norberto (Beto) Moreno, Esteban (Steve) Moreno and sister Maria Marcela Moreno Muñoz.
She is survived by her children: Rene Rodriguez and his wife Ophelia; Rodolfo H. (Bolo) Rodriguez and his wife Lidia; and Debbie Slocum and her husband Marc. Valentina's legacy continued through her grandchildren, who include Veronica Rene,Rodolfo “B.J.” Hugo, Rhode Jorge, Emily Maria, and Zachary Edward, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Sophia, Maddox, Maddie, Aleya, Madden, Samuel and Aden Rooks. Her sister, Maria Moreno Ayala, also survives her along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Valentina's commitment to her family and community was evident in every aspect of her life. She embodied the values of kindness and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. As we remember Valentina, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her loved ones.
Pallbearers include Veronica Rene,Rodolfo “B.J.” Hugo, Rhode Jorge, Emily Maria, Zachary Edward and Antonio “Tony” Moreno Jr.
Her life will be celebrated through a series of services beginning with a visitation on January 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Treviño Royal Oaks Dilley Chapel located at 604 W Leona St, Dilley, Texas. A Rosary will be held the same evening at 7:00 PM.
A Mass in her honor will be offered on January 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 114 E Frio St, Dilley, Texas, followed by interment at Dilley Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Valentina M. Rodriguez will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and community as a source of love, guidance, and inspiration. Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories shared.
